A team from MAFF consisting of Ela and Kakau along with myself from VEPA went out to monitor the success of the joint composting workshop held in April and funded by NZ Home F. We were able to visit 6 ladies and are happy to report that each one has started their own composting plot.
Here are pictures of some of the simple and effective designs

It was great to see so much effort in such a short time frame, all of the ladies monitored so far will receive seeds for their vegetable plot. Only one other lady that had started had problems, as the composting pile was in an old water tank, and sadly the neighbours had dumped diapers on top of it and she has had to start again.
Well done to all involved and special thanks to Ela and Kakau for their time for the monitoring of the project. Again a big thank you to NZ Home F and High Commission for funding the workshops and composting display unit at MAFF.
